hey girls!

been a long time since i posted, huh?

well anyway ALL of the original JASTRY members have officially officially graduated from TKGS, and now we're left with the three of you. put in your bestest effort and keep the TKGSSB Oboe Section ALIVE! :D whoooosh! new juniors will be coming in soon [hopefully you'll have two next year. one is such a lonely number.]

i hope you all are still enjoying your band life, cause i'm quite sure i'm still enjoying mine heaps and loads! i know it's stressful and stuff, but youall have to keep holding on. i know playing the oboe isn't easy. and that's the exact reason why you'll be so proud of yourself when you master it, get to play solos, and other awesome stuff like that. keep practicing! (: the oboe really can sound awesome (: believe in your own ability kay! relax, breathe deep, find the warm sound within you, and bring it out.

Jaslyn is our latest addition to the oboe family!
She's a nice girl don't bully her please!

Yay we got Gold With Honours! (but somehow we never posted this up)

And. If you all have not noticed, right now our oboe section has only one person from each level!
Exactly 4! But now that I've stepped down, there's only 3!
Everyone work hard ok? :)

hello my dear wonderful juniors.

i've heard youall aren't having that smooth a band journey now, so i'm here to update, and give youall some kind of moral boost, if i actually succeed in posting this up, in the first place.

i know band gets tough most of the time, but there are the nice moments you know? like how after all the stress of preparing for SYF, the results come back as a shiny gold. like how after being scolded like crazy for not being able to play a certain phrase, during the performance/concert, it comes out perfectly.

its sort of like the oyster. it has to endure all that pain, having that grain of sand within it. so it keeps trying to make itself feel better, but it only makes the grain of sand become that much bigger and that much more uncomfortable. but you see, after all that, the grain of sand becomes a beautiful and valuable pearl. its just that way. suffer to achieve, kind of thing.

it might be hard to tolerate the kind of stuff you get hurled at you, but you know what? its all meant to make you better. i know most of the time it actually isnt your fault, but thats just the way she is.

just play your best, and have no regrets as you proceed with your band life. i know i didnt, and i actually feel that void within me now.

and in everything, we, your seniors, are here for you. feel free to call us up [home phone, for me, please?] or send emails! we'd be more than happy to help in any way we can.

WOOH WOOH concert was a blast! So was exchange programme!

Anyway, Ms Sia wants us to write everything down, what we learnt from the exchange programme yeah?

Do it and hand to me asap, or hand to me this Saturday practice!

By the way this Saturday there's practice, FULL DAY.

Friday there's Band Comm plus SL/ASL meeting right after school at Vivaldi.

So sad Joy and Ting are gonna be gone :(

hi!

im here again. and i decided to post with a lighter colour seeing that our blog is black and yeah. its still purple anyway, so i still can be recognised right! hahah. actually it looks more like blue.

so maybe i should switch to pink. cause pink is my second favourite colour. okay. so. farewell was last friday, and i realise i didnt post anything about farewell on this blog.

i guess i just want to say a huge thankyou to you all for being such wonderful juniors. its been such a blessing getting to know youall. (: teaching hasnt been easy on our part, and i guess learning hasnt on yours either. but we see the effort you put in, and the results that you are achieving, and are really really really proud of you. keep up the good work okay?

and im not sure lah, maybe we should open up this blog for the juniors, since shilin, abigailtan and yimqi dont really come here... and let our TKGSSB OBOE SECTION have like the coolest blog okay?

decided to come back again and do another post.

being with another band for quite sometime, made me miss TKGSSB okay! its just. the whole entirely different way of functioning and everything. anyway. just realised, that in about 4 days, its our farewell and we'll be officially pushed out of TKGSSB ): and then when we come back again, the stupid security guard cant scold us for not wearing our pinafore. hahah.

i miss you all so much okay! we shall go out someday. cause im way too free at the moment. maybe i should find a job for January.

keep up the playing, improving and everything. like we all already know, oboes a really hard instrument to play, and improve on. so must keep putting in the effort kay? im really proud of all of you now. (:

all the best for next years juniors... having been through seeing all of you coming in and starting off... i shall be frank and tell you. its really really really horrendously difficult to teach people how to play oboe well okay! hahah... and yup. hopefully you all get nice talented juniors who will play oboe well and have the right attitude.

The like most randomnest, most craziest, most whatever-you-call-it person is here.
(Yes like who is the craziest and gayest person in the section LA)

Concert is on monday, and can you believe my rotten luck! Playing two solos from both Portraits Of Spain AND the infamous cursed opera, La Forza Del Destino.

I have a feeling it's my last concert, next year is SYF and stuff. Or maybe not, next year is exchange programme (shout HOORAY at this part).

I am S-T-R-E-S-S-E-D. Infact I'm on the verge of depression!
Selling tickets is not easy, and the worst part is ordering 6 tickets only to have 3 people back out in the end. Yes, if you're wondering how frustrating it is, it can get so bad it makes me want to shave a sheep bald.

Sec 1s work hard ok?
Can tell you guys are improving already! That's great to know, and it's kinda like inner pride to see you grow up in more than just one way.
Too bad I only watch you for 2 years though, and Yvette stop spoiling me with offers for chocolates! :D

i loved our section outing on sports day (: we ought to have more.

okay. so from then till now, its been a long time. and the oboe section of '06 is now almost completely spilt up. shilin's now in SAJC, abigailtan in MJC, and yimqi in choir.

but in that same time, huekay, abigailwee and yvette have joined us to form the oboe section of '08.

so maybe JASTRY ought to be changed to JARTHY.

but anyway. i hope everyone's handling the stresses well. (: and yeah. dont worry bout band. it'll continue to be fine.

we're going to be facing some competitions this year! NBC, and that other competition. and then theres our concert on 15th june! start trying to sell your tickets yeah? hahah. and then joy and huekay participating in the woodwind ensemble thing! so must jiayous alot! oh and the performance at our school's 55th anniversary thing.

yes, im sure our section all knows already that we're in this really dangerous state thing, but WE WILL PULL THROUGH. WE WILL IMPROVE, and WE WILL NOT GIVE UP!

the music station FM96.3 RAWKS. you know why? cause they love oboe! and we love oboe, so, we love FM96.3! hahah... they feature oboe and bassoon [the two most 'ignorable' instruments in the orchestra] which TOTALLY RAWK! hahah... ohwells. cross country tmr. zany parade too... we're taking a JASTRY photo!
